We are entering our fourth season of coordinating shared rides for Skidmore students traveling for the holidays. So far we’ve received great feedback on this program. Sharing rides saves you money, conserves fuel, and allows us to more effectively manage high demand.
Here’s how the shared ride program works: please call us or email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: student name, phone number, specific location of pickup (i.e. dorm or address if off campus), and a window of time, preferable one hour, during which you can leave. We will secure your reservation immediately, pending availability, and will be in touch with you the day before your departure to let you know the exact pickup time, once we’ve had a chance to organize the shared rides.
Shared rides are available to the following locations: Albany Airport, Albany-Rensselaer Train station, and Albany bus station. The discounted cost per student in a shared ride is $39 to the Albany Airport, and $49 to the Albany train or bus station. Although we DO guarantee a ride during the requested time, we cannot guarantee that it will be a shared ride. Non-shared rides are charged the regular student prices (see our Rates page for details).
If you wish to secure a pickup at the Albany Airport returning to Skidmore, please include your returning flight number, date and scheduled arrival time. We will reconfirm with you a day or two before your return trip. We do track all returning fights coming into Albany. Please see our Airport Service page for details on airport pickups.
